JAMMU, Dec 27: The three -day long religious function in connection with celebrations of 159th Jayanti of Swami Ram Ji Maharaj started at Swami Ram Shaiva Trika Ashram, Swaran Colony Gole Gujral today.
The function will conclude on December 29 with pooja archana and serving of Prashad to devotees. The function has been organized by Mela Swami Ram Ji Maharaj.
On the first day of celebrations religious discourses and lecturers on the teachings and religious philosophy of this great Shaiviat and saint was held. This will be followed by lecturers on Kashmiri Shaivism, philosophy and contributions of Swami Ram Ji in propagating and revival of this philosophy.
The scholars in their lectures said Swami Ji a renowned exponent of Kashmiri Shaivism and great Sidha Yoga is known for his scholarly exposition of Shaiviat philosophy and spiritual attainments. His voluminous contribution lies in revival of Kashmiri Shaivism at a time when it was on declining mood. He also established now famous Shaiviat Centre of Kashmir at Fateh Kadal Srinagar where he preached Shaivism, they added.
