SRINAGAR, Oct 19: The 3-day Judicial Conference continued on the second day today at SKICC in which Justice M.M. Kumar presented his paper on Access to Justice, whereas Justice Sanjay Krishan Koul and Justice Rewa Khetrapal presented paper on Civil Justice Administration.
Justice D.D. Sud and Justice Mukta Gupta read out paper on the Criminal Justice System: Fair Trial Rights, whereas Justice D.D. Sud, Justice A.P. Sahai and Justice Mukta Gupta presented paper on Role of Courts in upholding Rule of Law.
The objective of this conference is to discuss the role of courts in upholding rule of law.
The Regional Judiciary Conference is organized by National Judicial Academy of India in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir State Judicial Academy.
The Conference is attended by the Judicial Officers of District Judiciary of six North Zone States including Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pardesh and Uttar Pardesh.
During the second day of conference the issues relating to the relevance of rule of law in the areas of access to justice were discussed. The Chief Justice of State High Court Justice M.M. Kumar spoke on the vital issues of Rule of Law and Access to justice. He highlighted the contribution of the Supreme Court of India towards creating Jurispr-udence of areas in India. He also stressed on the role of judges to enhance the quality to justice.
