JODHPUR (RAJASTHAN), Feb 24: The three day Jammu and Kashmir Festival at Jodhpur concluded the other day.
The festival jointly organsied by the West Zone Cultural Centre Ministry of Culture Government of India and J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages was aimed at showcasing the rich cultural traditions of Jammu and Kashmir State through folk dances, music and art and crafts.
As many as 170 artists drawn from Kashmir, Ladakh and Jammu region participated in the festival and gave scintillating performances of their folk dances. The folk dances presented included Kashmiri ruff, Dogri dances, Kud, Geetru, Chajja, Bhand Patheater, Dhambali dance, Ladakhi flower and mask dances.
Display of Kashmiri handicrafts also formed part of the festival. A large number of people witnessed the performances. The Secretary, JKAACL Khalid Bashir said that more such festival are in the offing at various places in the country.
