3 civilians honoured for contribution in Nagrota encounter

JAMMU, Feb 5: Jammu and Kashmir Police has honoured three civilians, who contributed in encounter near Ban Toll Plaza in Nagrota on January 31 this year.
As per police sources, as a token of appreciation, Jammu and Kashmir Police has honoured three civilians, who contributed in encounter near Ban Toll Plaza in Nagrota on January 31 this year.
The civilians were honoured by SP Rural Jammu Suram Singh along with SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma at Police Station Nagrota.
The civilians, who were honoured were Avinash Sharma of Jhari Nagrota, Kewal Sharma of Jagti Jagdhamba Nagrota and Satnam Singh of Suchetgarh, at present Kandoli Nagrota.
These civilians played an important role in apprehending one terrorist who was trying to escape towards Kashmir when the encounter ensured between terrorists and security forces at Ban toll Plaza on January 31 this year.
SP Rural Jammu Suram Singh gave them Rs 5000 each as a token of appreciation and assured that they will be further compensated suitably.
