3 bovines rescued, driver held

RAMBAN, May 20: Banihal police rescued 3 bovine animals and arrested a driver. As per police sources, police team from Banihal police station led by SHO Inspector Tariq Naik under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Mohammad Rafiq and SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar laid a special naka at Old Toll Post Banihal amd intercepted a Tata Magic auto bearing registration number JK14A-7426.
On seeing police team, the driver tried to escape by accelerating the vehicle but police party chased and stopped the vehicle at some distance from the naka point.
During checking, police rescued 3 bovine animals and arrested the driver of the vehicle, who has been identified as Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, son of Fatta Khan of Zihaal Banihal.
A case under FIR number 66/15 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered against him at Police Station Banihal and investigation started.
