3 bovine smugglers held

RAMBAN, July 11: Police today arrested three bovine smugglers and recovered 8 milch animals from their possession, which they were illegally trying to smuggle to Valley.
Police spokesman said that, on the tip off, police party from Ramban Police Station laid a naka at National Highway near Shan Palace and intercepted a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JKO2AG 0877.
During checking, police recovered three milch animals and arrested driver Mohd Shakeel, son of Mohd Yaqoob of Chanderkote and Majeed Ahmed, son of Rehmat Ali of Jagti, tehsil and district Jammu, he said, adding, that the vehicle was seized and a case under FIR No 104/12 was registered at Ramban Police Station.
In another incident, police party from Banihal Police Station laid a naka at Nagbal and intercepted a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JKO6 1463. During checking, police recovered five milch animals and arrested driver Irfan Ahmed Sheikh, son of Javed Ahmed Sheikh of Nowgam Banihal.
The vehicle was seized and a case under FIR number 113/12 has been registered at Banihal Police Station.
