SAMBA, Mar 31: Police recovered 170 and 50 pouches of desi wine during its routine checking at Vijaypur in Samba district and Akhnoor in Jammu district today and arrested three persons in this connection.
According to reports 170 pouches of Desi wine were recovered from the possession of two scooty borne youth Sonu Kumar, son of Shalo Ram of Sarma Ramgarh and Rashpaul Singh, son of Giyan Chand of Ward 10 Rajouri who were on their way from Vijaypur to Ramgarh during a routine checking at Vijaypur. The police team headed by SHO Vijaypur Iqbal Choudhary under the supervision of SDPO, Vijaypur Ashok Singh.
The Police has also seized the scooty bearing number JK02AJ8167 and arrested the two. A Case FIR was registered against the duo in Vijaypur Police Station under the relevant sections of Excise Act.
In another case police during a routine checking at Akhnoor recovered 50 pouches of desi whisky from a youth identified as Malkeet Singh, son of Mela Singh of Jadh Akhnoor. He was arrested and a case was registered against them under FIR No 63/13 under Section 48-A/50 Excise Act.
