JAMMU, Oct 13: Central Bureau of Investigation today booked three Assistant Directors of Handicrafts and Managing Director of an NGO for misappropriation of Rs 74.72 lakh.
The accused Assistant Directors of M&SEC namely V K Mahajan, V K Savita and Som Nath and Zaheer Abbas Bhatti, Chairman of M/s National Foundation and M/s United Handicraft Self Help Group Federation Industrial Cooperative Limited siphoned off Central Government funds worth Rs 74.72 lakh during the period between 2006 to 2011 meant for proper implementation and execution of the workshops and projects.
The accused persons mis-utilized the money by abusing their official positions, which led to registration of case under Prevention of Corruption Act and Section 120-B read with Sections 420, 467, 468 and 471 of RPC.
