Srinagar, Jan 14: Police today said it has solved three kidnapping cases “in the shortest time” in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district and arrested two kidnappers.
A police spokesman said on December 27, 2016, police received a complaint from Farooq Ahmad Lone, stating that his daughter was kidnapped by Saqib Rashid Yatoo of Banihal. “A case FIR Number 43 /2016 under Section 363 RPC was registered in Police Station Pathkote and investigation was taken up,” he said.
The spokesman said during the course of investigation, police raided a number of places to nab the kidnapper. After sustained efforts the kidnapper was arrested and the girl was recovered. After completion of legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her parents.
“On January 11, one Mohammad Rafiq Khuroo lodged a complaint, stating his daughter was kidnapped by Nisar Ahmad Dar of Tresal village of Pulwama district. A case under FIR Number 01/2-17 under Section 363 RPC was lodged and investigation was set into motion”.
The spokesman said to nab the accused and to recover the kidnaper, a team was constituted and the team raided a number of places and the girl was recovered in 24 hours. “However, the accused is still on large and efforts are on to nab him,” he said.
The spokesman said on January 12, a complaint was received by police from one Ghulam Qadir Sofi, stating that his daughter was kidnapped by Hilal Ahmad Fafoo. On this information, a case FIR Number 01/2017 under Section 363 RPC was registered and investigation was taken up.
“During the course of investigation, a team recovered the girl and arrested the kidnapper in less than 12 hours. The girl was handed over to her parent after completion of legal formalities,” the police spokesman added.
