JAMMU, Mar 8: Two day International Conference on Recent Innovations in Computing (ICRIC-2019) being organized by Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, Central University of Jammu commenced here.
The conference was formally inaugurated by the chief guest Prof Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu today.
In his presidential remarks, Prof Ashok Aima encouraged the researchers and participants to learn as much as possible from this platform.
The guest of honour was Amit Sharma, Additional Director, DRDO New Delhi, who delivered Keynote talk on “Cyber Weapons and Advanced Cyber Threats” which was attended by all the participants.
The special guest during the inaugural ceremony was Dr Zdzislaw Polkowski from Wyzykowski University, Polkowice, Poland. The second keynote speaker on the inaugural day was Prof Divesh C. Jinwala, Dean, IIT Jammu.
The inaugural ceremony of the Conference started with welcome address by Dr Yashwant Singh, Conference General Chair and Head of the Department, Computer Science and IT. He informed the audience about importance and theme of the conference on modern era of innovative computing.
Prof Devanand, Co-Patron and Dean Basic and Applied Sciences, in his remarks shared the statistics of the conference ICRIC-2019. He informed that more than 173 manuscripts were received from researchers/ academician covering six different countries and 13 states across the country. In ICRIC-2019, out of the 173 received manuscripts, only 82 high quality research articles have been accepted for oral presentation.
The accepted articles will be presented by the participants in 8 different technical sessions during both days of the Conference. The technical sessions in the conference will be chaired by various delegates including Prof Shuchita Upadhyaya (Kuruskshetra University, Haryana), Dr Sudhanshu Tyagi (Thapar University), Dr Manoj Kumar Gupta (SMVDU, Katra), Dr Sudeep Tanwar (Nirma University, Ahmedabad), Dr Jatinder Manhas (University of Jammu) and Dr Pradeep Kumar Singh (Jaypee University of Information Technology, Solan).
The ICRIC-2019 is being financially supported by SERB-Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and Science and Technology Department, J&K as well as technically sponsored by Lecture Notes in Electrical Engineering (LNEE), Springer.
The organizing committee of the ICRIC-2019 are the faculty members of the Department including Programme Chair Dr Arvind Selwal, Conference Technical Programme Chair. Dr Bhavna Arora, Publicity Chairs Dr Deepti Malhotra, Dr Neerendra Kumar and Publication Committee Chair Dr Pradeep Kumar Singh from Jaypee University of Information Technology).
The inaugural function was anchored by Dr Bhavna Arora, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Arvind Selwal, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and IT.
