JAMMU, June 19: In a grand and spiritually charged ceremony, the 29th Annual Sindhu Darshan Yatra, organized by the Sindhu Darshan Utsav Samiti, was ceremoniously flagged off from here today.
The flagging-off ceremony witnessed the presence of prominent dignitaries including J&K BJP president Sat Sharma, MLA Bahu and National vice-president of Sindhu Darshan Yatra Samiti Vikram Randhawa, former Deputy Mayor and Pradesh Samiti member Advocate Purnima Sharma, Ajay Gupta (president of Sindhu Darshan Samiti), Satish Mittal (Akhil Bharatiya Committee member of the Samiti), Narinder Aggarwal (Yatra incharge) and Ajay Sharma of Sanskar Bharti.
The Yatra which began its spiritual journey from Jammu, will have its first halt in Srinagar, second halt in Kargil, and will reach Leh on 22nd June. A series of cultural programmes will be organized in Leh on 23rd, 24th, 25th and 26th June, with the significant Sindhu Ghat religious and cultural bath scheduled on 24th June. The total duration of the Yatra is 11 days.
Sat Sharma, while addressing the gathering, said, “The Sindhu Darshan Yatra is not just a pilgrimage; it is a reaffirmation of our ancient civilizational values, our national unity, and our commitment to cultural resurgence. The immense growth of this Yatra underlines the growing spiritual consciousness of the people under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
Vikram Randhawa added, “The Sindhu River represents the soul of Bharat, and this Yatra binds our spiritual aspirations with patriotism. It’s a symbol of unity beyond barriers.”
Purnima Sharma said that the Sindhu Darshan Yatra continues to stand as a vibrant symbol of India’s unity in diversity, cultural strength, and unwavering devotion.
Ajay Gupta expressed deep pride in organizing the 29th edition and announced that the upcoming 30th Sindhu Darshan Yatra will be celebrated as a Kumbh Yatra, marking a new milestone in this divine journey.
