29 posts vacant in SDH Mandi: Shabir

JAMMU, Mar 26: Minister of State for Health Shabir Ahmad Khan while replying to a Calling Attention Notice of Dr. Shehnaz Ganai informed that the building of Sub-District Hospital Mandi, Poonch has been completed and made functional with Operation Theatre, Diagnostic and Laboratory facilities.
The minister said repair and renovation work on quarters of 2 medical officers and Block Medical Officer and other allied works have been completed. He said that construction of four additional residential quarters at a cost of Rs 78.78 lakh has been completed up to slab level and maintained that the work on Super structure of store building is also in progress.
Mr Khan said that the construction of Labour room/ward complex at SDH Mandi was taken up in hand under NRHM during 2007-08 through J&K Police Housing Corporation at a cost of Rs 16.97 lakh. He said full funds have been released in favour of executing agency and revised cost of Rs. 20 lakh has been received from the agency along with demand for release of additional funds of Rs. 3.03 lakh. The super structure has been completed except finishing work, he added.
The minister said that the sanctioned strength of staff in SDH Mandi is 64, of which 13 are Doctors, 33 para-medics and 18 are others. He said 35 employees are in position and 29 posts are vacant in different cadre and have been referred to the recruiting agencies for making selection of the suitable candidates.
Mr. Khan said One MBBS Doctor, Two Staff Nurses, Two Lab Technician, Two Technicians and Two X-Ray Technicians have been engaged at SDH Mandi under NRHM for the smooth functioning of the institution.
