271st Jayanti of Swami Mirzakak celebrated with religious fervour, gaiety

JAMMU, Jan 10: The 271st Jayanti of Swami Mirzakak who was popularly known as Kak Ji was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety at his Nagrota Asthapan today.
A large number of devotees drawn from different parts of Jammu participated in the day long function. On the occasion a Maha Yagya was also performed which culminated with Puranahuti.  This was followed by flag hoisting. The devotees were served with Prashad.
On the occasion Swami Kumar Ji of Geeta Satsang Ashram Muthi and other scholars gave religious discourses on the life and teachings of Swami Mirzakak a mystic saint of medieval Kashmir.
Swami Mirzakak who was born in village Hangalgund in South Kashmir district of Anantnag in 1745 had guided the people of Valley at a time when entire Kashmir was passing through the tyrant rule of Afghans, said Swami Kumar Ji. He said Swami Ji was such a enlightened soul that he made a prophesy about the end of tyrant rule with its replacement by Sikh rule from Punjab and within days Maharaja Ranjit Singh invaded Kashmir and defeated the Afghan rulers to rid the Valley people of all atrocities to which they were subjected to by Afghans, he added.
He said not only this but Swami Ji had made many prophesies during his lifetime and also performed many miracles which were unimaginable.
He said Swami Ji kept the Kashmir’s Vaakh Parampara (tradition) alive and his Vaakhs are a key to spirituality and a way to Moksha (salvation).  He said a research needs to be made on his Vaakhs and the Swami Mirzakak Trust should take an onus to itself in this regard.
Besides a Samohik Aarti a bhajan Kirtan was also performed in the Ashram by the devotees who paid their obeisance to this spiritual saint. The function was performed under the leadership of B L Hangloo president of the Trust in coordination with other trustees, including Veer Ji Hangloo, Director Social Welfare, A N Hangloo, D N Hangloo, S L Pandita, D N Bhat, A K Raina, M K Hangloo, Ramesh Pandita, P N Hangloo, Veer Ji Pandita, M L Pandita, P N Hangloo etc.
