2707 pension cases approved within JMC limits: SJSC Chairman

JAMMU, Nov 18: Social Justice Standing Committee (SJSC) of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) has claimed that long pending demand of Jammu people regarding pending pension cases has been fulfilled by the Government.
In a press conference here today Jeet Kumar Angral, SJSC Chairman said 2707 pension cases have been approved within JMC limits and these include 2253 old age pension cases, 399 widow pension cases and 55 disability pension cases.
Angral along with other SJSC members expressed gratitude towards J&K Lieutenant Governor (LG), Manoj Sinha; Farooq Khan, Advisor to LG; Sumita Sethi, Director Social Welfare; Ajay Salan, District Social Welfare Officer Jammu and Majeet Singh, Tehsildar Jammu for conceding the long pending demand of the people and providing them a relief in these though times.
The SJSC Chairman said that he met the LG few days back and handed him over a memorandum with demands of implementation of basic service fund head in JMC, implementation of linear drainage system project in Jammu city and separate colony for people belonging to SC and ST community.
He said that these demands are pending and hoped that the LG will also fulfil these demands very soon as they are also crucial for the upliftment of socially and economically weaker section of the society.
Angral also said that anybody left out and having any difficulty regarding pension should meet him.
Other SJSC members present in the press conference were JMC Counsellors Tripta Devi, Sham Lal, Ajay Gupta, Kuldeep Singh and Subash Sharma.
