26 cases disposed of in Samba Lok Adalat

JAMMU, Feb 29: On the directions of National Legal Services Authority (NLSA) and in compliance to directions of the State Legal Services Authority (SLSA), a Lok Adalat was organized today at District Court Complex, Samba under the chairmanship of M.A. Chowdhary, Chairman DLSA (Principal District & Sessions Judge), Samba for taking up cases for settlement.
Two benches were constituted for the purpose. A Special Bench was constituted for taking up MACT & bank cases, pre-litigation matters and all cases referred by District Judge which was headed by M.A. Chowdhary and assisted by Ms. Swati Gupta, Secretary, DLSA, Samba. Second bench comprised of Ajay Gupta (CJM), Samba and assisted by Ms. Jyoti Bhagat (Additional Munsiff), Samba for taking up of Cr. Compoundable cases of all nature, NI Act & petty offences, matrimonial cases & all other civil suits.
The representative of Banks, Insurance Companies, Advocates and Litigants participated in the Lok Adalat. A total No. of 79 cases were taken up by the Bench out of which 26 cases were disposed of amicably and an amount of Rs.8,86,500/ was settled.
