26 bovine animals rescued, 4 held

JAMMU, July 26: Police today arrested four bovine smugglers, seized three TATA Mobiles and rescued 26 bovine animals from their possession at Salani bridge and Chingus under the jurisdiction of Rajouri police station.
Police intercepted three TATA Mobile vehicles bearing Nos. 620 JK11A, 1785 JK02AF and 6181 JK02AK at Salani bridge and Chingus and rescued 26 bovine animals from them, which were being smuggled from Rajouri to Kashmir valley via Mughal Road.
Four bovine smugglers were arrested while three fled away from the spot.
Arrested bovine smugglers have been identified as Mohammad Yunus son of Jamroja, Mohammad Hussain son of Mirwaiz, Talib Hussain son of Mohammad Bashir and Tahir Hussain son of Mohammad Yusuf, all residents of Rajouri.
Police was conducting searches for three absconders. Police have registered FIR against the bovine smugglers.
Police parties headed by SHO Rajouri Inspector Varinder Gupta made the arrests under the supervision of SSP Rajouri Mubassir Latifi.
