Srinagar, Mar 8: 256 JAK LI recruits from all regions and religions of the State of J&K today passed from the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry Regimental Centre at Bana Singh Parade Ground in Budgam.
An Army spokesman said today, Recruit Course Serial number 95 culminated, on having completed 49 weeks of arduous training.
PS Sandhu, IPS, Inspector General, Border Security Force, Srinagar, revieved their Passing Out Parade which depicted transformation of a recruit into a young soldier.
“Over 2000 relatives of the young soldiers along with a number of civil/ military dignitaries were also present. The daunting soldiers took oath in unison to serve the supreme cause of the Nation.
He said the Inspector General congratulated the young soldiers for their immaculate parade and impressed upon selfless service towards the Nation.
The spokesman said in the investiture ceremony, Recruit Azim Malik of Udhampur, who distinguished himself in all disciplines of his training was awarded the Sher-e-Kashmir, Sword of Honour and the Triveni Singh Medal, for being adjudged as the overall best recruit in the course.
“He was also conferred upon the Maqbool Sherwani Medal for being the Best Recruit in Physical Training,” he said.
