KATHUA, Sept 16: The water supply to nearly three dozens of villages has been affected in Kathua, Lakhanpur and Hiranagar area as nearly 25 PHE pumping stations are out of order for the last two to three weeks.
Officials sources said that at least 15 pumping stations in Hiranagar and nearly ten in Kathua area are out of order due to damage caused during this rainy season. The water supply to more than three dozen villages has been badly hit due to it. The Mechanical Engineering department field staff has been conveyed about the matter and the restoration work is being initiated. However, some alternate arrangement of water supply through tankers has been made at some places.
The people alleged that due to slow pace of restoration work, they have been facing lot of hardships.
