KATHUA, Mar 30: In a devastating fire that took place at village Lahari of block Barnoti, 25 goats were roasted alive in a shed where they were kept last night.
The Sarpanch, of the area, Mohinder Kumar said that the fire broke out in a cattle shed during mid night under mysterious circumstances. The 25 goats were inside the shed who were brunt alive in devastating fire. The goats belonged to Manjur Ahamed, S/o Maddja, R/o Jodh Pyt, Lahari block Barnoti . He said that in such forest and far flung areas, there is no arrangements of fire extinguishers or water to defuse the fire. The villagers have appealed the district administration to release ex-gratia in favour of affected family which has suffered the heavy loss.
