JAMMU, Aug 29: A total of 242 cases were settled in Lok Adalats held in district Kathua and various areas of Srinagar.
A Lok Adalat was held in the District Court Complex (DCC) Kathua under the chairmanship of VC Koul, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Kathua.
The Lok Adalat comprised of two benches. The first bench comprised of Sonia Gupta, Additional District and Sessions judge, Kathua, whereas the second bench comprised of OP Bhagat, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kathua, Renu Dogra Munsiff, Kathua and Dinesh Gupta Mobile Magistrate, Kathua.
The bench number 1 took Motor Accidents claims and other cases 18 cases were decided on spot and award money to the tune of Rs 39,84000 was ordered to be paid to the claimants. The bench number 2 decided 14 criminals cases, (petty and compoundable cases) total 32 cases were disposed of by the Lok Adalat.
Meanwhile, a mega Lok Adalat was held under the supervision of Principal District and Sessions Judge Bandipora in the district Bandipora during which 95 cases of various nature out of 102 taken up, were settled amicably. An award of Rs 4.54 lakh was passed in the bank cases after settlement with banks. A fine of Rs 12,700 was also recovered. As many as four benches were constituted for smooth conduct of the Lok Adalat.
A Lok Adalat was also held in the Court Complex Pulwama today under the supervision and control of Principal District and Sessions Judge Pulwama and was presided by District Judge, Sub Judge (CJM) Pulwama and Munsiff Pulwama. As many as 25 cases of different nature were taken up during the Lok Adalat, out of which 10 cases were settled amicably on spot. An amount of Rs 3900 was realized as fine and compensation in Motor Accidental claims.
A Lok Adalat was organized by the Tehsil Legal Services Committee at Munsiff Court Complex Pampore today headed by Chairman Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Pampore and President Bar Association as member. As many as 20 cases have been settled amicably on spot during the Lok Adalat.
A Lok Adalat was organized today at Court Complex, Aishmuqam under the chairmanship of Munsiff who is also the Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee Aishmuqam for amicable settlement of cases of different nature. As many as 15 cases of different nature were taken up during the Lok Adalat, out of which 13 cases were settled amicably on spot.
A Lok Adalat was also held at Pattan under the chairmanship of Sub Judge Pattan, who is also the Chairman Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Pattan. As many as 100 cases of different nature were taken up during the Lok Adalat, out of which 54 cases were settled amicably on spot. A fine of Rs 26,250 was also recovered.
