Jammu, Sept 15 : An Educational-cum-Motivational tour comprising of 23 students and three teachers was flagged off today by the General Officer Commanding, Cross Swords Division from Akhnoor. The students will visit various places of Uttarakhand to include Dehradun, Massorie, Haridwar and Rishikesh.
During the flagging off ceremony local populace from various villages were present to visualise the historical moment. The children will visit places of historic and cultural interests like Indian Military Academy, Forest Research Institute, Rashtriya Indian Military College, Lal Bahadur Shastri IAS Academy and other holy places at Haridwar and Rishikesh. During the tour children will get the golden opportunity to meet Aziz Qureshi, Governor of Uttrakhand.
The Army will achieve its objective to channelise the energy of the inquisitive students towards issues of national interest. The children will get familiar with the Indian culture, heritage and rich history of the country.
