23 cases settled in Lok Adalats

JAMMU, Oct 30: Twenty-three cases were settled in Lok Adalats held at Rajouri and Ramban.
A Lok Adalat was held in the District Court Rajouri, under the chairmanship of AK Sharma, Principal, District and Sessions Judges, Rajouri.
Two benches were constituted during the Lok Adalat. The first bench comprised of AK Sharma, Principal, District and Sessions Judge, Rajouri and Advocate Deepak Sharma, whereas, Advocate Vivek Gupta was present on behalf of Bajaj Allaiaz Insurance Company. The second bench comprised of Mohd Ashraf Khan, CJM Sub Judge, Rajouri, Sheikh Parvaiz Iqbal, District Mobile Magistrate (T) Rajouri and Advocate KM Bhat.
In the Lok Adalat, 27 cases of different natures were taken up, out of which 19 cases were settled and an amount of Rs 7,85,000 was awarded as compensation.
Meanwhile, a Lok Adalat was held at District Court Complex, Ramban, which was presided over by Kusoom Pandita, Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Ramban and assisted by Arun Kumar Kotwal, Munsiff, JMIC, Ramban.
A total of 10 cases were taken up during the Lok Adalat, out of which 4 cases were settled.
