22 fresh cases of dengue reported

JAMMU, Oct 7: Twenty-two fresh cases of dengue were reported today in Jammu region, taking the number of people affected with this vector-borne disease so far this season to 270.
According to official sources, as on today a total of 1390 patients have been tested for dengue out of which 270 cases have been found positive and reports of 756 have been found negative while result of 364 samples are still awaited. “No death has been reported due to Dengue so far”, they added.
Elaborating more, sources said that out of 270 Dengue cases, maximum 240 have been reported in Jammu district followed by six in Kathua and Samba districts, five each in Doda, Rajouri and Udhampur districts and one each in Poonch and Kishtwar districts.
They further revealed that out of these 270 dengue patients, 179 were adults (115 males and 64 females) and 91 were children (55 males and 36 females).
“So far Dengue has not claimed any life in Jammu region and most of the patients affected with the disease have returned to their home after successful treatment in various hospitals”, they added.
