JAMMU : A new batch of 2,176 pilgrims today left for the holy Shri Amarnath Cave Shrine in South Kashmir from ‘Yatri Niwas’ at Bhagwati Nagar base camp in this winter capital.
The batch comprising 1,596 men, 456 females, 37 children and 87 sadhus left for the Amarnath cave shrine from here in a convoy of 87 vehicles including 33 state road transport corporation (SRTC) buses, 15 private vehicles and 39 light motor vehicles (LMVs), an official spokesman here said.
The first bus left at around 0456 hrs and the last bus at 0524 hrs, he added.
