21 bovines seized, 4 persons arrested

RAJOURI, Aug 26: The police seized 21 bovine animals and arrested four smugglers in district Rajouri since last night.
Official sources said that as a part of  drive against bovine smuggling Thannamandi police led by SHO Narinder Singh Chib,  laid a naka at Behrote during early hours today, seized a Tata mobile bearing registration No JK0IJ-4169 and rescued five bovine animals. These milch animals were being smuggled to Kashmir via Mughal Road. The police seized the animals along with vehicle and arrested one bovine smuggler namely Imtiaz Ahmed, son of Ghar Ahmed, resident of  Khablan in Thannamandi.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 130/2015 U/S 188 RPC, 3 PCA has been registered at Police Station, Thannamandi.
Dharamsal police party led by SHO, Mohd Bashir, on the intervening night of August 25/26, on a specific information laid a naka at Manjhi Dhar and seized six bovine animals. They were being taken on foot towards Mughal Road for further smuggling to Kashmir. The police arrested the  smugglers namely Ghulam Nabi, son of  Akbar Din from Siot Dhoke and Shahnawaz, son of Maina, resident of Pari Kalakote.  In this connection a case FIR No. 79/2015  was registered.
Similarly, Budhal police led by SHO Insp Kuldeep Raj under the supervision of Addl SP  Tejinder Singh, today laid a naka at Samote and during checking seized ten  bovine animals. The smuggler was carrying these milch animals  on foot from Samote-Targain-Marg to Shopian illegally. Police arrested one Abdul Rashid, son of Mir Hussain, resident of Khourbani, Budhal.  In this connection a case FIR No. 65/2015 has been registered at Police Station Budhal.
