21 bovines rescued

POONCH, May 27: Surankote Police today foiled a bovine smuggling bid and rescued 21 bovine animals.
According to a Police spokesssman, Incharge Police Post Behramgala Rajat Nanawat established nakas at Behramgala and other locations. He said during naka checking, the Police teams intercepted two Tata Mobiles bearing registration numbers JK22C-4245 and JK11E-0513 at Behramgala naka.
“On checking, 15 bovines were found loaded with utmost cruelty in the two vehicles,” the spokesman said, adding, one more bovine smuggler namely Ghulam Ahmed son of Munawaran, resident of Saillan, was also trying to smuggle 6 bovines by foot.
He said all the bovines were rescued and three separate cases vide FIR Number 113/2023, 114/2023 and 115/2023 were registered in this regard at Police Station Surankote and further investigation started.
