2,000 youth attend Army Mela at SKICC

SRINAGAR, Dec 28: Two thousand youth today attended a mela organized by army at Sher-e-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) here on the banks of Dal Lake.
With the panoramic view of Dal Lake encompassing the location at SKICC, the event witnessed enthusiastic crowd from various parts of the valley, a defence spokesman said.
The ‘youth mela’ was aimed at providing a focu-sed guidance on career opportunities available for different age groups, he said. “Various competitions like painting, singing, music and dance were organised wherein more than 1200 participants showcased their talent. A stall was also established by Army recruitment organisation, Srinagar which explained the youth about the various entry schemes to Armed Forces,” the defence spokesman said.
Major General Mukesh Kumar, the GOC 31 Sub Area, complimented the youth for their grit, determination, high spirit and overwhelming participation. He expressed his hope that such events will benefit the youth from the valley to further hone their skills.
