20 kanals forest land retrieved, 2 structures dismantled

POONCH, Mar 4: A joint team of Forest Department and Forest  Protection Force (FPF) retrieved nearly 20 kanals of forest land and also smashed two kucha structures raised by two villagers Mendhar Range of  Poonch Forest Division.
Official sources said that a joint team of Territorial Forest Poonch led by Range Officer Mendhar,  Azmat Hussain Shah and Inspector,  FPF Poonch along with other force men organised  a well coordinated operation in Forest Compar-tment No. 187 on Saturday and retrieved the forest land.
It had been illegally grabbed by two persons namely, Mohammed Kala  and Mohd Showkat  hailing from village of Kas Baladi. They had raised two Kucha structures there on forest land. The team dismantled the structures  and cleared the Government land. Earlier, the family members of these people showed some resistance  but later, they could not stand there for long and escaped.
The DFO Poonch, has directed the Forest Range field staff to go for fencing of the retrieved land  and keep watch  on the activities of these persons at the site for some days. Conservator of Forests, West Circle has lauded the efforts of the forest staff involved in the operation.
