KATHUA, Jan 21: Joint team of Toll Post Lakhanpur and Lakhanpur Police foiled a major bid of smuggling bovine animals by rescuing 20 bovine animals and seizing the vehicle in which they were being carried today at Toll Post Lakhanpur while the vehicle was entering the State.
Reports said a vehicle bearing registration number JK02AB-5632 while trying to enter into the State at around 7 am today was intercepted by vigilant staff of Toll Post , Lakhanpur. On checking the vehicle which as per the documents was carrying potato and G R NO 10043 was issued by M/s Prem and Co. Narwal, Yard No 6, Jammu. But vehicle was carrying 20 bovine animals.
The staff of Toll Post Lakhanpur along with Lakhanpur Police seized the vehicle and rescued the bovine animals. In this regard a case FIR No 10/2018 dated 21/01/2018 U/S 188 RPC was registered at P S Lakhanpur.
