20 bovine animals rescued

JAMMU, Sept 20: Continuing its drive against bovine smuggling, Gharota police during naka checking at New Thathi Bridge rescued 20 bovine animals, which were being smuggled in a vehicle bearing registration number JK02BV-9657.
In this regard, a case FIR number 90/2021 under section 188 RPC & 11 PCA Act was registered at police station Gharota and two accused namely Mohd Aftab son of Zakir Hussain of Leran Dharal and Zakir Hussain son of Jaleel Ahmed Khatana of Qagikund (tehsil Doru, Anantnag) were arrested.
The whole operation was conducted by SHO police station Gharota Inspector Khyatimaan Khajuria under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Varun Jandial. Further investigation of the case is going on.
