KATHUA, Feb 22: The police seized two trucks loaded with 13 bovine animals in Lakhanpur area of district Kathua early today but the smugglers escaped from the spot.
Reports said that two trucks tried to enter J&K from Punjab side through river Ravi during early morning. Due to water in the river, the trucks got trapped in the river. The police received information about the transportation of bovine animals to J&K from Punjab and rushed there. The vehicles bearing registration No. JK02AK/6741 driven by Kala Khan of Ragoora near Jammu and JK02S/2325, driven by Mohd Tojo of Ragoora Jammu along with animals were seized but the drivers managed to escape. A case FIR No. 27/2013 was registered at Lakhanpur Police Station.
