2 smuggling bids foiled in Rajouri, 15 bovines rescued

RAJOURI, July 14: The Police foiled two separate bovine smuggling bids in Thanamandi and Dharamsal area of Rajouri, rescuing 15 cattle from the possession of smugglers.
Official sources said that a Police party from Thanamandi Police Station, headed by SHO, Fareed Ahmed under the supervision of SDPO Sajjad Khan intercepted a smuggler who was smuggling bovines towards Mughal Road from Mangota link road.
” Eight bovines were rescued and smuggler identified as Shokat Hussain, son of Mohammad Bashir, resident of Khablan was arrested on the spot and a case in FIR No. 135/2020 under sections 188 IPC and 11 PCA Act has been registered.
Similarly, a Tata Mobile vehicle on way to Rajouri from Sunderbani on highway was signalled to stop by Police team but driver broke the naka and was chased by team headed by SHO Dharamsal, Rajinder Sharma.
At some distance, vehicle was found parked on roadside with driver absconding and seven bovines were loaded in the vehicle which were rescued and vehicle JK20/ 5057 was seized on the spot.
The Police said to have registered a case FIR No. 57/20 under sections 188 IPC, 3 PCA Act at Dharamsal police station in this connection.
