POONCH, Oct 20: Two shops were gutted in overnight blaze at Hurmi Dhaki, Seri Khawaja, in Poonch district last night.
Official sources said that an information was received about the fire incident in two shops last mid night after which a team from Police Post Chakatroo along with Fire and Emergency men reached on spot and tried to extinguish fire but two shops of cloth and shoe merchant, had already gutted. However, it was doused by the Fire fighting men. Property worth lakhs was damaged in the major fore.
Owner of both the shop Wajid Bashir, son of Mohd Bashir, resident of Hurmi Dhakki in Seri Khawaja said that he suspects some foul play.
A senior Police officer confirmed the incident and said that a report in this regard has been entered in Police Station Mandi, while the reason of fire is being ascertained yet.
