2 Punjab residents arrested with 120 kg poppy straw

UDHAMPUR, June 14: Police arrested two Punjab residents along with 120 kilograms of poppy straw. As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Udhampur Police Station laid a naka at Jakheni and intercepted a truck bearing registration number HR47D-8867.
During checking, police recovered 120 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested two persons, who have been identified as Satnam Singh and Sikhjeet Singh, both residents of Kapurthala, Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 268/18 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Udhampur Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Udhampur Inspector Vijay Singh Choudhary made the arrest under supervision of DySP Headquarters Kulbir Handa and Additional SP Faisal Qureshi.
