Ramdayal, Manik, Vishal power KCCC to semis

*Kathua Baloon Jr registers narrow win

JAMMU/KATHUA, June 14: Magnificent batting display by all-rounder Ramdayal Punia and skipper Manik Gupta, coupled with brilliant bowling show by left-arm spinner Vishal Kumar and speedster Sawan Singh powered Kishen Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) to a big win over AMCO Cricket Club in the ongoing JKCA Premier Cricket Championship, being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association, under the supervision of retired Judge, Jang Bahadur Singh Jamwal, Member, Committee of Members JKCA at GGM Science College Hostel Ground, here.
Winning the toss and batting first, KCCC sailed on brilliant 85 by Ramdayal and 51 by Manik Gupta and scored a huge total of 241 runs in 30 over, losing 6 wickets in the process. Young Kanaihya Wadhawan and Wicket-keeper batsman Raman Thaploo contributed 24 and unbeaten 23 runs to the total respectively. For AMCO, Nitish and Harry took 2 wickets each.
In reply, AMCO Cricket Club bundled out for 88 runs in 17.4 overs, thus lost the match by 153 runs. Sanjay was the top scorer with 32 runs, while Ajay made 12 runs. For KCCC, Vishal took 4 wickets, while Sawan Singh and Kunal bagged 3 and 2 wickets respectively. Vishal was declared as the man of the match.
Meanwhile, at Sports Stadium Kathua, Baloon Junior defeated Eleven Star Kathua by 2 wickets.
Batting first, Eleven Star scored 181 runs in 30 overs. Anshu top scored with 44 runs, while Nishank and Aditya contributed 33 and 32 runs respectively. Aryan also chipped in with 23 runs. For Kathua Baloon Jr CC, Yougal took 3 wickets, while Sethi and Bonny took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Kathua Baloon reached the target in 27.3 overs by losing 8 wickets, thus won the match by 2 wickets. Tarun, Shubham and Lovely contributed 33, 32 and 31 runs to the total respectively. For Eleven Star Abhay bagged 3 wickets, while Aditya claimed 2 wickets. Tarun was adjudged as the man of the match.
