SRINAGAR, May 28: Police today arrested 2 drug peddlers in Baramulla, Kulgam and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In Baramulla, a police party led by SHO PS Baramulla under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla Sajjad Bukhari during Naka checking near the Hospital crossing Baramulla intercepted a suspicious person who tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully.
During the search, police said, 15 grams of Brown Sugar-like substance was recovered from his possession.
Similarly in Kulgam, a police party headed by in-charge PP Frisal during naka checking at Damidulla Crossing intercepted one person identified as Tariq Ahmad Kuchay son of Abdul Majeed Kuchay resident of Kadder Kulgam.
“During the search, 5 Cannabis sticks (105 grams) were recovered from his possession.”
Both the drug peddlers have been arrested and shifted to their respective police stations where they remain in custody. “Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of the law have been registered at respective police stations,” police said.
