SAMBA, Dec, 28: District police Samba has arrested two narcotics smugglers and recovered 32 grams of Opium (Afeem) like substance in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Vijaypur.
Acting on a reliable information, a police party of PS Vijaypur laid a surprise Naka checking near Vishwakarma Mandir, Vijaypur and while checking signaled a vehicle bearing Registration Number JK21F-0515 to stop which was coming from Vijaypur side.
On seeing the police party, the driver accelerated the speed of the vehicle and tried to flee away but was successfully intercepted on the spot by the police naka party.
During checking, approximately 32 grams of Opium (Afeem) like substance was recovered which was concealed tactfully inside the vehicle to avoid being notice by the Police. The accused persons have been identified as Sunil Kumar, son of Ramesh Chander of Barota Camp, tehsil Ramgarh, district Samba and Dinesh Sharma, son of Krishan Chand of Shaheedi Chowk, district Kathua.
Both the accused persons have been arrested on the spot and contraband item as well as the vehicle was also seized.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 205/2021 under relevant sections of NDPS Act registered at PS Vijaypur.
