UDHAMPUR, Nov 20: The Police seized a truck along with 32 kg poppy straw (Bukki) and arrested its driver and his associate here today.
A police spokesman said that Police party from Udhampur during nakka at Jakheni on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway intercepted a truck bearing No. PB13Z-4976 and after search found 32 kg poppy straw concealed under the goods. The police seized the vehicle along with consignment and arrested its driver, Zahid Hussain, son of Zamaldin, resident of Malerkotla and his associate Kaka, son of Suleman also from Malerkotla. A case was registered against them. They were bringing this consignment from Kashmir and it was destined for Sangroor in Punjab.
