2 minors drown in Kashmir

Srinagar, July 12: Two minor boys today drowned to death in two separate incidents in north Kashmir’s Lolab area.
As per details, a 10-year-old boy drowned in a pond in the Divar Lolab area while he was taking a bath. He has been identified as Yawar Manzoor S/O Manzoor Ahmad.
As he drowned, he was pulled out of the water body in an unconscious state and was rushed to a nearby healthcare facility where the doctors declared him dead.
The police after completing all the medico-legal formalities have handed over the body to the family.
In another similar incident, a 15-year-old boy who has been identified as Asif Ahmad s/o Ashiq Ahmad, a resident of Chandigam drowned in a water body near his place of residence.
As he drowned, locals rushed to rescue the boy was subsequently launched jointly by SDRF, police, army alongside locals, culminating in the retrieval of the body from the water body.
Meanwhile, people in the area have urged the district administration to erect fencing around the ponds on immediately.
