JAMMU, June 26:The State Police today said two militants were killed while trying to infiltrate into the Indian territory along the Line of Control in Keri Sector of Rajouri district.
“Army on seeing the movement of around three suspected armed militants this morning at around 1100 hrs close to the LoC in Keri Sector opened fire at them, which was retaliated,” official spokesman here said.
He said as they were moving ahead, Indian troops challenged them and fired on them adding that the fire was retaliated and the infiltration bid was successfully foiled.
“Two of the militants trying to cross the fence were eliminated in the gun battle,” Danish Rana-Deputy Inspector General of Police Rajouri-Poonch Range here told reporters.
He confirmed the killing of militants. (AGENCIES)
