UDHAMPUR, Sept 18: In a tragic incident, two young labourers drowned in Dudar Nallah at village Nansu where they had gone to collect sand.

The deceased have been identified as Varun Kumar (17), son of Vijay Kumar and Daleep Kumar (35), son of Balveer Chand, both residents of village Baddali in Udhampur. They accidently slipped into deep water and drowned.
Bodies of the deceased were fished out after more than two hour-long search operation by SDRF team, under the supervision of Addl SP Udhampur, Anwar-ul-Haq.
The incident took place around 12.30 pm. The deceased had gone to collect sand from the Nallah where one of them accidently slipped into deep water while the other one also drowned in attempt to rescue the former.
After postmortem and completion of other legal formalities, Police handed over the dead bodies to family members of the deceased.
