2 killed in road accidents

KATHUA, Oct 13: Two people were killed in two separate road accidents in Kathua district today.
As per reports, 80 year old Som Nath of Sanjay Nagar Jammu died on spot after he was hit by an unknown vehicle while crossing the road at Chan Arorian in Raj Bagh area late tonight.
He had come to Chan Arorian to attend a marriage ceremony. The vehicle fled after accident. Raj Bagh Police has registered a case under Section 304A /337/279 RPC and started investigation. The dead body has been kept in DH Kathua for postmortem. It will be handed over to family members after conduct of postmortem tomorrow for last rites.
In another incident a young scooterist was killed after his two wheeler was also hit by an unknown vehicle at Barnoti near Kathua. He has been identified as Paramjit, 30, Son of Subash Chander of Nagri Parole. The scooty skidded off the road after being hit by the vehicle resulting into the instant death of Parmajit. His body has been taken to DH Kathua for postmortem which will be conducted tomorrow after that the body will be handed over to family for last rites.
The Kathua Police Station has registered a case under relevant sections of the law and started investigation.
