RAJOURI, Dec 3: In a tragic pre-dawn road accident near Chingus, on Jammu-Poonch highway in Rajouri district, two people lost their lives while three others were injured.
Reports said the mishap took place when a Swift car (JK12D-7568), moving from Jammu to Rajouri rammed into a roadside parapet at around 4:30 AM on Wednesday.
The victims who died in the accident have been identified as Naik Singh (53), son of Puran Singh, a resident of Beripattan, and Mohd Yaqoob (45), son of Mohd Fazal from Saila, Surankote. Their bodies were shifted to Mortuary of GMC Rajouri and later landed over to the respective families. The three injured—Mohd Farooq, son of Mohd Fazal from Saila in Surankote), driver Mohd Sageer, son of Mohd Haneef from Digwar, Poonch and Mohd Mushtaq, son of Fazal Hussain from Kakora Manjakote—were shifted to GMC Rajouri for treatment soon after the mishap. The police have taken cognizance of the incident and further investigation is underway.
