POONCH, May 29: The police recovered two kidnapped girls and a woman and nabbed a wanted criminal evading arrest for the last over seven years.
Police sources said that Surankote police traced and recovered 16 year-old abducted girl namely Safia Akther (name changed), daughter of Aziz Dar, resident of Boni Khet. The girl was abducted on March 25, 2015. A report was lodged by the parents that their daughter has been kidnapped by one Fayaz Ahmed, son of Ghulam Nabi, resident of Kacharban district Budgam. Accordingly a case FIR No. 55/2015 U/S 363,309 RPC was registered against the accused person at Police Station, Surankote.
On the basis of specific information generated by SHO Surankote Insp Masoof Ahmed Mirza and DySP Surankote Reyaz Tantray, a police party was deputed to trace out the girl and after hectic efforts girl was recovered from Budgam area. The kidnapped girl has been handed over to her parents after completing all legal formalities. The accused is yet to be arrested.
Meanwhile, father of Sabia Akther (18) “name changed” lodged a written report at Police Station, Surankote alleging that his daughter has been kidnapped by one Mohd Ikhlaq, son of Sanna Ullah, resident of Hill Kaka on February 16, 2015. A case FIR No. 93/2015 U/S 366,109 RPC was registered at PS Surankote. A police team led by ASI Mohd Rafiq of PS Surankote under the supervision of SHO PS Surankote, DySP Surankote and SSP Poonch, recovered the abducted girl from Traranwali Sangla and arrested the accused person. After completing the legal formalities the girl was handed over to her parents.
Meanwhile, Surankote police arrested one absconder who was evading his arrest for the last more than seven years. The absconder has been identified as Barkat Hussain, son of Alam Din of Gunthal Surankote. He was wanted in case FIR No. 165/2008 U/S 376 RPC. The absconder was also produced in the court of law.
Meanwhile, on May 22 one Yahyah Khan of village Khanater lodged a written report at PS Poonch that his wife namely Shahida (name changed) has been kidnapped by one Shafi Anwar, son of Habib-Ur-Rehman from Kishanganj in Bihar on 20-05-2015. On this, a case FIR No. 72/2015 U/S 366 RPC was registered at PS Poonch and investigation taken up. A police party of PS Poonch led by ASI Inderjeet Singh, Insp Jatinder Raina, SHO PS Poonch under the close supervision of SSP Jatinder Singh Johar recovered the abducted lady from Bihar. After completion of other legal formalities, the lady was handed over to her family members. The accused person has been arrested.
