2 jawans among 4 dead in mishap

RAMBAN, Sept 29: Two CRPF jawans were among four persons killed when their Fortuner vehicle skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge near Kela Morh on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway this morning.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK02BG-6888 was on its way to Jammu from Srinagar, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it plunged into 200 feet deep gorge near Kela Morh, 5 Kilometers from Ramban town at around 9:45 am, resulting into on the spot death of two persons and grievous injuries to two others.
The vehicle belonged to Justice MK Hanjura of Jammu and Kashmir High Court but the Judge was not traveling in the vehicle as he was scheduled to travel by air to Jammu.

After getting information, police team led by SSP Ramban Mohan Lal and Additional SP Ramban Mushtaq Chowdhary rushed to the spot and with the help of Road Opening Party (ROP) of Army, Quick Rescue Team (QRT) volunteers and State Disaster Rescue Force (SDRF) personnel rescued the injured persons and shifted them to District Hospital (DH) Ramban, where one of the injured succumbed to his injuries.
One injured person admitted in District Hospital Ramban was later referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) by chopper arranged by District Administration, where he also failed to respond to the treatment and breathed his last, thereby raising the death toll in the accident to four.
The deceased have been identified as Vinod Kumar, son of Gyan Chand, a resident of Muthi, Jammu, Hukum Chand, son of Ramesh Chander, a resident of Ramnagar, Udhampur, Sunil Kumar (posted at F21 CRPF Srinagar), son of Dal Chand of Gurdaspur Punjab and Ajeet Singh (posted at F21 of CRPF Srinagar), son of Yash Pal Singh, a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Ramban Police Station and investigation started.
