RAJOURI, May 4: Two jawans of Indian Reserve Police were arrested for allegedly raping a woman at Gambhir Muglan under the jurisdiction of Police Station Manjakote.
The accused were identified as Omar Farooq and Mohd Maqbool, both residents of Kashmir and jawans of IRP, 6th Battalion, presently deployed at Rajouri.
According to Police, the duo barged into the house of victim, late last night, when she was along. They raped her and fled the scene after committing crime.
The victim approached the Police this morning and lodged a complaint following which both the accused were arrested.
A case under Section 376 and 352 RPC has been registered against the accused while medical examination of the victim was got conducted at the hospital.
