2 hideouts busted

Srinagar, Aug 13: Police in Awantipora busted two militant hideouts in the forest area of Badroo Barsoo area of Awantipora in Pulwama district today.
Police said that based on a credible input, Awantipora police along with 50 RR of Army and 130 Bn of CRPF busted two militant hideouts in the forest area of Badroo Barsoo area of Awantipora.

“During search in the area, the joint team busted and destroyed two hideouts of proscribed terrorist outfit LeT. The team was able to recover huge cache of explosives, arms & ammunition and other incriminating materials from the hideouts which include 1918 AK rounds, 2 hand grenades, 1 UBGL thrower, 4 UBGL grenades, half bag of ammonium nitrate like substance, five gelatin sticks, crude pipe bomb, 3 code sheets and other materials”, police said.
It added that Indian currency of Rs 5400 was also recovered. “All the recovered incriminating materials have been taken into police custody for the purpose of investigation”, police said.
Police have registered a case (FIR No. 106 /2020 under relevant sections of law) in Police Station Awantipora and initiated investigation.
