Mayor listens problems of people, starts dev work

JAMMU, Aug 13: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta along with Vikram Randhawa, Ex-MLC and Prof. Youdhvir Singh, Councilor Ward No. 73 today visited Karan Bagh, Chatha, Bhour Camp and adjoining areas and listened grievances of the locals.
The locals complained about sanitation in the area and demanded installation of more street lights and repairing of defunct ones, they also demanded construction of leftover lanes and drains, lifting of stray animals on routine basis, cutting of China grass in rainy season etc.
The Mayor listened to the problems and assured that all the grievances will be sorted out within a short period of time.
The Mayor also started the pending construction work of a Nallah flowing along Karan Bagh-Chatha road which was lying pending for the last 12 years and was creating problems for the locals.
The Mayor said that the Nallah is being constructed at an estimate cost of Rs 17.00 lakh and directed the concerned engineering wing to complete the work within a month.
He also said that other development activities like installing of street lights, commissioning of open gyms in parks, installation of beautiful fountains at rotaries of the city, construction of multistory parking at Panjthirthi, restoration of traditional water bodies will also be started and completed soon.
Sunil Kumar Sharma, Executive Engineer; Ashok Kumar Sharma, Assistant Executive Engineer Division IV; field staff of health section of JMC and others also accompanied the Mayor.
