UDHAMPUR, May 25: The police arrested two persons and recovered some quantity of heroin (Chitta) from their possession in Majalta area of Udhampur district today.
Reports said during naka at Battal Morh, a bike bearing registration No. JK14K-8517, coming from Ramkot side towards Manwal, was stopped for checking by cops at PCP Battal. On questioning, the rider disclosed his identity as Gagan Singh, son of Bupinder Singh, resident of Charoti, Tehsil Majalta.
The rider failed to produce the documents of the said bike. During his personal search, nearly 3 grams of heroin (chitta) was recovered from the right pocket of his jeans.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 76/2026 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act stands registered at Majalta Police Station.
Majalta police also intercepted a Scooty bearing registration No. JK14G-1109 at Majalta, coming from Majalta morh. During checking, the rider identified himself as Pardeep Singh, son of Surinder Dev Singh, resident of Puany, Majalta, in Udhampur. During his personal search, approximately 4.63 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 77/2026 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered.
