RAJOURI, Apr 5: In a major crackdown on drug- trafficking the police apprehended two individuals in possession of 12.6 grams of heroin near Darhali Bridge in Rajouri.
Reports said a police team from Police Station Rajouri was on the routine patrolling, and when it reached near Darhali Bridge it started checking of vehicles. During checking the team intercepted a vehicle bearing Regd.No. JK02CK-8153 and stopped for checking purpose.
The two individuals were sitting inside the vehicle including driver. During their personal frisking, the police recovered heroin, weighing 12.6 grams from their possession.
During questioning, the accused were identified as Asif Khan, son of Mohd Younis, resident of Bafliaz Tehsil Surankote in Poonch and Zahid Khan, son of Shadi Khan, also resident of Bafliaz in Surankote,
In this regard a case FIR No. 174/2025 under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rajouri. Both accused have been arrested and the recovered contraband has been seized as evidence. Further, investigation was in progress.
